For two years, CALeDNA has monitored fragile vernal pool habitats in different seasons. Come to this bioblitz in Merced county and learn from conservation scientists and natural areas managers about the special vernal pool species such as fairy shrimp and colusa grass, and we'll share with you what eDNA results we have from the past year too!
The first hour (9-10AM) is a presentation, the hikes are from 10AM-noon. We may use gators to drive around, so prepare for light hiking and some off-roading! Snacks will be provided.
We will meet at the barn at the reserve on UC Merced campus. The gate will be open for you to drive in. Carpooling from UCLA or UCSC can be organized! Send us an email if you need it.
