Pinto Lake is one of few naturally formed lakes in California.

Pinto is 8000 year old with 4 input streams.

The Lake suffers from

seasonal toxic algae blooms.

Researchers at CALeDNA

are studying how these

blooms affect the plants,

animals, bacteria & fungi

that live at the Lake.

What you will do:

1. Learn how to collect water

and soil samples.

2. Hike and Collect!
